Outerwinds Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Outerwinds has no accounts and no sign-in. We don't use analytics or advertising, and we never sell your information.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter stays on your phone and never reaches us: your household details, checklist, supplies, documents, and photos. The camera and photo library are used only to add photos to your documents and property record.
What leaves your phone
- Storm alerts: if you turn on notifications, we store your phone's notification token and your National Weather Service forecast zone (for example, FLZ072) so we can send you watches and warnings for your area. We don't collect your name, address, or exact location.
- National Weather Service: to find your zone and show alerts, the app contacts the National Weather Service with the approximate center of your ZIP code.
- Purchases: Outerwinds Pro is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase ID so Pro can be restored. We never see your payment details.
Your choices
- Turn off notifications in your iPhone's Settings to stop storm alerts.
- Use Settings → Delete all my data in the app to erase everything on your phone and remove your token and zone from our server. A Pro purchase belongs to your Apple account and isn't removed.
- Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.
